Subject: Shenandoah Valley Wine tasting, shopping in Sutter Creek & Jackson, touring the Sierra Nevada Mountains over Kit Carson Pass into Lake Tahoe

Our tour will begin on Tuesday, July (*) at 9 A.M. at Orchard Creek Lodge. We will drive to Plymouth, CA and then on to Villa Toscano Winery where we will have lunch at their Bistro. Sandwiches, salads and pizza are available for prices of $6.99 - $10.99. You may wish to bring your own picnic lunch. Wine tasting at Villa Toscano will be available after lunch. We will then continue to the Renwood Winery for wine tasting, then to Bella Piazza Winery, and finish our wine tasting at Young's Vinyard.
Our drive will then continue to the village of Sutter Creek. We hope to arrive by 4 P.M. for walking and shopping.
At 5 P.M. we will check in at the Best Western in Jackson, CA. The rooms have recently been renovated and should be comfortable. We will meet in the Best Western parking area at 6:10 P.M., leaving at 6:15 to drive to Teresa's Place, an Italian restaurant that has been family owned since 1921.
On Wednesday, July (*), we will meet in the parking area at 10:00 A.M,. which will allow us time beforehand to walk into downtown Jackson and/or have breakfast. Our hotel is one block from the downtown area. After meeting at 10:00 A.M., we will drive on Highway 88 over Kit Carson Pass. We will continue past Silver Lake, then onto Highway 89 through Luther Valley, and to Lake Tahoe. We will arrive in Lake Tahoe by lunchtime.
After lunch, we will spend some time driving around the lake, then we'll continue to Truckee where we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express and have dinner.
On Thursday, July (*), we will have time to shop in Truckee and drive to Lincoln.
You will find the Shenandoah Valley to be reminiscent of the Tuscany area of Italy.
Be sure to call each of the following hotels for reservations well in advance of our tour.
